Este estudio analiza las metas y realidades de cuatro trabajadoras educadas, adultas Latinas estudiantes de inglés como segundo idioma (ESL), que viven en North Carolina; una región que está viendo migración intensa de emigrantes Latinos. Este estudio enmarca teóricamente problemas de ajuste confrontados por estas Latinas emigrantes en cuanto a género, idioma, geografía, e historia profesional y educacional, experiencias actuales y expectativas. Éste concluye ofreciendo un enfoque orientado a la justicia social en la enseñanza de inglés para adultas Latinas.
