Effectively Educating Latino/a Students

A Comparative Study of Participation Patterns of Hispanic American and Anglo-American University Students

n: Este manuscrito provee en primer lugar una revisión de la literatura en cuanto a la educación de estudiantes hispano-americanos (latinos) a nivel secundario y terciario; en segundo lugar los resultados de un cuestionario de investigación con estudiantes latinos y anglo-americanos (blancos) en una universidad en el suroeste con respecto a los patrones de participación en salones de clase. Las respuestas de los estudiantes latinos reflejaron valores hispanos tradicionales como comunidad y cooperación al compararse con las respuestas de los estudiantes blancos. Sin embargo, también se encontraron en ambos grupos respuestas con similitudes intrigantes y contra-intuitivas.
