Regino Pedroso and the Creation of a Triple Consciousness

This article delves into the complex subjectivity of the Cuban vanguard poet Regino Pedroso and how Pedroso confronted his subjectivity through poetry. The poems "Salutación fraterna al taller mecánico," "Hermano negro," and "Salutación a un camarada culí" all demonstrate to some degree the triple dimension of Pedroso's situation of being Black, Chinese, and a member of the oppressed working class.
